About Doris 🌻

Hello and welcome to Tall Girl Organizing!

I’m Doris, owner and NAPO-trained professional organizer. With a background in science and a natural eye for order, I help individuals and families bring clarity and calm to their homes—especially during times of transition. I specialize in working with older adults and empty nesters who are ready to simplify, downsize, or refresh their space.

My approach blends coaching and organizing. That means I’m not just here to tidy up—I’m here to listen, guide, and collaborate with you to create lasting systems that support your current stage of life. Whether you’re navigating a move, letting go of long-held items, or making space for new routines, I bring structure, patience, and care to every session.

Organizing is a skill. In fact, it’s a remarkably simple skill that anyone can learn. How do I know? Because I was once a notoriously disorganized person myself.

  • Supporting Seniors with Compassion and Respect

My heart for working with seniors began in my 30s, when I spent my Saturday mornings volunteering at a local nursing home. During that time, I led a small Bible study group and developed meaningful connections with several residents. That experience opened my eyes to the importance of presence, patience, and purpose in the lives of older adults.

After my father passed away, my husband and I moved to Southern Oregon to be near my mother, providing encouragement and support as she grows older. She still lives independently, and my sister and I help out with groceries, errands, and household tasks. I also spend time with our senior neighbor, offering companionship and a friendly ear whenever I can.

I understand firsthand that aging comes with challenges—physical, emotional, and practical. My husband and I are also navigating our own aging journey, seeking a holistic, balanced approach to health, home, and well-being.

That’s why, as a professional organizer, I’m passionate about helping seniors create calm, safe, and manageable home environments. Whether it’s streamlining belongings, optimizing living spaces, or simplifying daily routines, my goal is to promote independence, clarity, and dignity throughout the aging process.

Let’s work together to create a space that truly supports the next chapter of life—with grace and care.

  • A Bit About Me

I believe that a well-rounded life includes time to unwind, create, and connect. My interests are simple but deeply meaningful to me. I love needlework—especially cross-stitch and other forms of embroidery—and I always have a knitting project going. Hats and scarves are my favorite things to make, often to give as gifts.

Cooking is another way I express care; there’s something so satisfying about preparing a meal that brings people joy. To relax, I enjoy creative gardening. When I’m working through an idea or trying to solve a problem, you’ll often find me outside pulling weeds—it helps me think.

As a Christian, faith is an important part of my life. I value time spent in fellowship with others who share my beliefs, as well as quiet moments of reflection and prayer.

  • One session can change how your space feels—and how you feel in it.

You might be wondering why I structure my organizing sessions in 3-hour blocks. Simply put—it works. Three hours is long enough to see visible progress, but short enough to avoid overwhelm or burnout.

Here’s what clients love about this format:

    • It creates a clear sense of accomplishment

    • It’s budget-friendly with flat-rate pricing

    • It limits decision fatigue

    • It leaves room for reflection and fresh ideas between sessions

    • It respects your time and energy

It’s also an easy, low-barrier way to get started—whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for a refresh.
